Signatures: RJ Delony / H. Kepler. Unknown 1863 IP stamp
with 2 Jackson Miss 1864 & '65. (This unknown 1863 exhibits the
circular base that is seldom seen with this stamp). This note is extremely
high grade for the variety with Full Frame Line. It is beyond me why
PCGS didn't give this note an UNC grade, but I guess they "netted" the grade
because of the ink burn. I understand the "Apparent" because it does
have the tiny ink burn at left signature; but, this is "paper" and it simply
can't be graded the same way as rag content notes. Ink Burn / Erosion
is quite common on thesenotes!

This is a Short Note variety 1/8th inch shorter than last and 1/4"
shorter than the earlier notes. There are 2 Augusta IP stamps 1864
& '65. The 1865 Augusta is the black ink variety. There is also
a tiny phantom "T" to left of center vignette on this note. There are
apparently several variations of the T from heavy and completely formed to
lighter inking like this one. This note's balance, color and contrast
are above average while the cut is close and especially tight at bottom.
This is typical of all 1863 issued notes. It has a couple tiny
pin-holes at center.
